All Done

Well that was a fairly fantastic spring break. I did pretty much nothing and it felt amazing doing it. Did the usual eye/teeth doctor checkups and then hit the slopes on the wrong day. We decided to go up Wednesday, it was nice and hot and slushy. The weirdest thing was it had snowed that morning, so there was a layer of powder down, however due to the burning hot sun, the powder got all slushy. So, when you boarded into it, one felt the feeling of snowboarding on wet carpet. Very interesting indeed.
I did notice one thing, I like Boulder a lot more when everyone is gone. It turns back into a small little college town, instead of a small super crowded college town. Parking is easy to find, shopping isn’t hectic, and food deliveries get to the destination quick. I like it a lot.
Heading down to Littleton today for a little afternoon dinner with the family then off to Cervantes aka Hippie Bar, to see The Early November. I am excited.
Must be Spring Break Time

Almost out of the woods…

One more day of the fantastic life of school then a week off. It is nice how all the teachers decided to test us on our learnings so as to not forget the stuff over the break…
Spring break plans:
Nothing. Oh, how good that feels to say.
Not All Engineers Created Equally

A conversation I overheard in class:
Eng1: What is pi?
Eng2: 3.14348902348902 (not the actual numbers stated in the conversation)
Eng1: No, like what is IT? How did they calculate it?
Eng2: Umm
Eng1: Isn’t it like a ratio of 2 numbers?
Eng2: No, no, no. They calculated it some other way.
Eng1: Really?
Eng2: Oh ya, they found it by doing Taylor’s expansion on something.
Eng1: Ah. Cool.
I found it quite humorous. FYI. Pi was found by finding the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. There was no Taylor’s expansion of anything. Thus the equation, C=pi*D, or C=2*pi*r. Silly engineers…

Last Sunday I went out and shot through a whole roll of film. Here are the results. Check out the whole album.
Close call…

In class this morning, before it starts, I go to do a blog update.
I type, ghostmanonthird.com, page loads, “This account has been suspended by siteground.com.” DOH. I think to myself what could possible be up there that warrants a suspension. Log on to the admin site, view the ticket they sent me. Yada Yada, users/&*^&*@#%/public_ftp/incoming/WinVista… Whoops forgot to take down the disk images my Dad sent me to upgrade the old computer. Anyways, after a quick reply and some darn good costumer service, I am back in action. Never again to ftp such stuff.
Now, to the original post.
A new bbq joint opened a block down the street in the old Dairy Queen. On a never ending quest to find the best bbq joints, Ashley and I are really excited to go the opening tonight. Our high expectations had better not be squashed.
Cheating…

Dear Students,
During the past week I have become aware that individuals in our class have accessed an old MCEN-3022 website (now deleted) to obtain homework and exam solutions. Some students have submitted homework and exam solutions based on this information as their own work, a clear violation of the CU Honor Code. Plainly put, this is unacceptable and unethical behavior!!The individuals who have practiced deception have violated my trust and that of their fellow students. They have deliberately used information available on the Internet for their personal benefit, to the disadvantage of their fellow students. Their lack of cooperation with respect to the Honor Code has serious consequences for our class of nearly 200 students. First of all, I will have to look skeptically at homework grades to date and the first exam grade. Secondly, I will re-examine the class on the Chapter 1 and 2 material by extending the length of the second exam, scheduled for April 5th, to three hours.
So, this pretty much sucks, cause I studied my ass off and got an 80% on a very hard test. Also, each test is worth 33% of my grade, as I chose the no homework option. So, with inflation of grades from these people, and the professor being lazy and dumb and actually not creating a new test, but using an old one from a couple years ago, he has made me very frustrated. Again.
Bow

So, our computer desk is starting to bow in after two years. A major operation is underway to reverse two years of holding stuff. Hopefully she holds.
