August Sunset
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 | , Photography | No Comments
Sitting on the back deck and reading has its advantages. Like being able to catch the beautiful sunset that snuck up on me tonight. This type of sunset comes about once a year, and I was lucky enough to catch it with my camera last year after biking home from school. Enjoy the photos, and excuse some of my drastic post processing on a couple of the photos, the majority are all natural.
Stairs

With the clock approaching midnight last night, and not a sleep eyelid in sight, I decided to head to pearl st. to get some long exposer black and whites of the night crowd scurrying from bar to bar. I set up shop on the top level of a parking garage and took some alright shots, nothing too spectacular. It’s hard to bank on drunk people actually sitting and waiting to cross the street when the red hand is up, thus the “crowd” movement I wanted I couldn’t really get. However, here are a few shots from that.
Feeling a bit dissapointed in the shots, I decided to haul up to campus to see if any of the buildings stood out in the night lights. I gravitated towards my favorite building on campus, Old Main, and to the 3 spiral staircases. These are my favorite thing to photograph, and saw that they had some really good yellow lighting. Here are some color and black and whites of the staircases, these really capped the photo adventure off well.
How do you get to the store?

Campus Night
Sunday, August 10th, 2008 | | No Comments
I swung though campus last night on the way to an ATM before Southern Sun, and thought, why not rattle off some black and whites. Curiously I have found that I enjoy photographing urban areas in black and white. And I always seem to leans towards over exposing by one. While, whenever I do nature landscapes I prefer color and an under exposure of one. Very curious stuff. Enjoy.
PS. Excuse the one color photo in there, it had to be done.
Boulder Creek
Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 | | No Comments
After 4 years of having an idea to photograph Boulder Creek as the water turned to rapids and flowed over the rocks, I finally got around to it. I got a couple shots of what I really wanted, but I definitely need to head back out during the day to get some shots of the completed shaded area I really wanted to get. Be sure to check page 2, where I caught some tubers/rock jumpers in my couple second exposures.
P.S. I really need to get a remote trigger for my camera, as to not have to do 10 second exposure delays to keep the camera from shaking on the tripod.

Alone

A lot has changed over the last 4 months of my life. School has ended, relationships have ended, work has started and now friends are starting to move out of Boulder and yet, I am here. Today, I had a revelation, that its going to be OK. I have chosen to live in Boulder for one reason, I love it. The town, the people, and the atmosphere everywhere you go.
